Piping stress analysis is a crucial aspect of designing and maintaining piping systems in various industries such as oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, and more. It involves evaluating the stresses and deformations experienced by piping systems under various operating conditions to ensure their safety, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards.


We have the ability to carry out root cause analysis with a visual assessment of piping system by walkdown and propose a fully engineered solution.


Our pipe stress analysis capability include stress analysis of Metallic and Non-Metallic (GRP) pipework. 


Our services include:

  • Static & thermal stress analysis for given load cases
  • Analysis of occasional conditions such as wind, seismic, shock loads due to system depressurization and blast loads.
  • Dynamic analysis using Response spectrum method for Seismic design in Nuclear plant and Time history method for forces generated by quick closure valves
  • Assessment of design modifications.
  • Nozzle assessments including nozzle loads and local stress analysis
  • Special Pipe support design and specifying standard supports including expansions joints, spring supports and Struts.
  • Acoustic induced and flow induced vibration assessment including fatigue analysis for high pressure pipework (3000 bar connected to Hyper compressor)

Pipeline design and stress analysis ensures safe and efficient transportation of fluids, such as oil, gas, water or chemicals over long distances. Pipeline can pass through various terrains and can be above ground or buried.

Fitness for Service Assessment

Fitness for service (FFS) assessments are crucial for evaluating the structural integrity and reliability of piping and equipment in various industries, including refineries, petrochemical plants, and nuclear facilities. These assessments aim to determine whether existing components can continue operating safely and effectively under specific conditions, considering factors such as corrosion, mechanical damage, and degradation over time.


Our FFS assessment include:

  • Brittle Fracture assessment
  • General and Local Metal loss assessment
  • Pitting Corrosion assessment
  • Assessment of crack type flaws
  • Assessment of Dents, Gouges and Dent-Gouge Combinations


Design codes : API 579-1, BS7910, R6 

Level-1 and Level-2 assessment is carried out using in-house calculation sheet

Software – ANSYS, ABAQUS is used for Level-3 assessment

Pipework Vibration Assessment

Vibration induced fatigue failure of pipework are a major concern with safety, production downtime and environmental impact. We have experience in addressing Vibration induced fatigue failure in depressurising pipework systems.  


Our vibration assessment include:

  • Small bore connection assessment
  • Acoustic induced vibration assessment
  • Flow induced vibration assessment
  • Vortex induced vibration and thermowell assessment

Pipework Vibration Assessment

Pressure Vessel Design

Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) applies to the design, manufacture and conformity assessment of pressure equipment and assemblies with a maximum allowable pressure greater than 0.5 bar. We design pressure vessels (pressure > 0.5 bar) to comply with Design codes and PED requirements.


Our Pressure vessel design capability includes:

  • Pressure Vessel Design by Rule 
  • Pressure Vessel Design by Analysis (DBA)
  • Non-standard component design (DBA)

We have experience in material selection process (metals and non-metals) and understanding various degradation mechanism. We have prepared site condition report based on site survey and provided recommendation in selection of materials for various acid application.
